FamilyProtect is live on Product Hunt
We are launching FamilyProtect on Product Hunt today. If you have a few seconds, a look at our Product Hunt launch genuinely helps a small product get found. It is also a good moment to say plainly what FamilyProtect is, and what it is not.
What is FamilyProtect?
Windows parental controls that filter harmful and adult content on every family PC, and that a child cannot quietly switch off. Two things make that work, and both are structural rather than features on a list.
Filtering below the browser. Every app looks a website’s name up before it connects to it. FamilyProtect filters at that lookup, so one filter covers every browser, game launcher and app on the PC at once. There is no “just open a different browser” move to make. The full explanation is in how DNS filtering protects every device.
Enforcement above the child’s account. Protection runs as the system, not your child’s Windows account, so a standard account has no switch to reach. Not because it is hidden, but because the permission genuinely is not there. More on why that one decision matters in can kids bypass parental controls?
Together those change the honest answer to “can my child get around it?” from “yes, easily” to “not from their account, no”.
What does it deliberately not do?
No screen time. No reading messages. No keystrokes, no camera, no location tracking. We did not want to build spyware with a friendly logo, so FamilyProtect enforces the safety rules you turn on and tells you plainly what got blocked, and nothing more. This is the line we will not cross, and we wrote it down in our Privacy Policy.
Why Windows only?
Most family desktops and homework laptops are still Windows, and it is where the bypass tricks show up first: a second browser, a portable app off a USB stick, a VPN. We would rather be genuinely tamper-resistant on one platform than partly effective on three, so FamilyProtect is Windows only and we say so plainly.
What does it cost?
One flat monthly plan covers every Windows PC in your house, with no per-device fee, and you can see what that costs in your currency on our pricing page. The first 14 days are free, and if you are here from Product Hunt, the code PRODUCTHUNT at checkout adds a further month free on top of the trial. You take a look at what gets blocked, sorted into Serious, Keep an eye on, and Filtered quietly, and you decide.
Start your 14-day free trial and see it on your own PCs.
If you came here from Product Hunt today, thank you for taking a look. If you found this any other way, welcome, and the trial link above is the fastest way to see how it works.
